Tricolor goes green

France’s Rooftop Law
France (Paris)

In March the French government decreed that all new buildings in commercial zones must construct gardens or solar panels on their rooftops. This is a big step in human ingenuity and accountability. Too often, environmental action is taken by the very few who can afford the technology.

In time, as the glaring evidence of global warming turns into disruptive natural forces (like California’s drought), we’ll start to see more government intervention. The whole planet is moving toward alternative power, and it’s truly heart warming and inspiring to see whole countries taking measures to hold themselves accountable. The times are turbulent, and we need more planetary responsibility like France just showed.
